Vice President Harris named Howard University as his headquarters on election night

Vice President Kamala Harris plans to return to the Hilltop on November 5th. Howard University The alum designated his university in Alma as his headquarters on election night.

NBC News confirmed the news on October 29, citing reports that Howard University was one of the final choices for where the Democratic nominee would host the historic evening. However, it is unknown where the vice president will be located on campus. According to the news agency, the most likely option is Harriet Tubman Quadrangle, an on-campus all-girls dormitory.

Harris has a deep Panhellenic heritage; She crossed in 1986, in which she pledged to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., her line was “38 Jewels of Rainbow Splendor” and of course included 38 line sisters. So of course AKA support is there. Her fellow Divine Nine fraternity sisters and brothers, including Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, helped promote Harris and mobilize votes for the presidential campaign.

“I recognize that my time at Howard shaped me into the person I am today,” Harris wrote for HilltopHoward’s school newspaper. “At Howard, we understand that we have the opportunity to succeed and that we have a responsibility to work hard to realize that potential every day. As we celebrate this 100th milestone, please know that President Biden and I remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting HBCUs.”

While Harris was weighing where to hold her party on Election Night, President Joe Biden decided to hold it in his native Delaware. Harris had the opportunity to discuss this with President Biden; however, the former California senator decided not to continue using Biden’s headquarters. Instead, she chose a place that was more familiar and comfortable to her.

Harris visited her alma mater several times during her campaign. Hilltopthe school newspaper recently published Harris’ message. during homecoming week. In her statement, she emphasized the need to help Howard and other HBCUs. She also stayed at other HBCUs, including Clark Atlanta University.
