This started with a bronze copy Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s desk on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., topped with basketball-sized poop. Now anti-Trump statues are appearing in many US cities.

The latest appeared Wednesday morning at Maya Park in Philadelphia, where someone posted approx. eight foot statue Donald Trump is right behind the sculpture of a naked woman. The plaque below, titled “In Honor of a Lifetime of Sexual Assault,” cites the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape leaked in 2016, when Trump could be heard discussing sexual assault of women.

“I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just a kiss. I don’t even wait,” the plaque reads. “And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.”

This sculpture did not last long. Philadelphia city crews removed it around noon Wednesday after they were notified of its appearance because the artists did not have permission, said Laura Griffith, associate director of the Public Art Association.

Over the weekend, a seemingly identical Trump statue appeared in downtown Portland, Oregon. He was quickly beheaded and vandalized, while the Portland City Council candidate and Trump supporter filmed himself. cut down at the memorial plaque. Destroyed statue disappeared Monday morning.

On Thursday morning, CNN received a call from a man who claims to be heading up this political art project. The man, who insists on remaining anonymous to focus on the art, told CNN he works with a small group. “It’s not that much. Just a few people,” he said. And their message is all about “resistance fatigue.”

“The most shocking things about Trump as a president and as a candidate, as a person, are so ingrained in our memory, so distant, that they are no longer shocking,” the anonymous man told CNN. “We put them out there because we want to remind people that these are important things and they should influence the decision-making process.”

On Monday, a bronze statue of a tiki torch appeared in D.C.’s Liberty Square, just a couple of blocks from the White House.

The statue, titled “Donald Trump’s Enduring Flame,” appears to poke fun at the former president’s behavior. protection of marchers who attended the 2017 white nationalist rally that left the woman is dead.

“This monument pays tribute to President Donald Trump and the ‘very good people’ he bravely defended as they marched in Charlottesville, Virginia,” the plaque underneath it reads. “While many have called them white supremacists and neo-Nazis, President Trump’s voice rose above the rest, reminding everyone that they were ‘treated completely unfairly.’ This monument is an everlasting reminder of that bold statement.”

The tiki torch statue was destroyed by a vandal on Wednesday, and the remains were removed by the team responsible for the piece of art.

U.S. Park Police arrested a man Wednesday for destruction of property and possession of cocaine, according to a USPP public affairs officer.

Although the artist – or artists – behind the statues remained a mystery for several days, a largely redacted permit approved by the National Park Service shows that Civic Crafted LLC and Julia Jimenez-Pizik requested and received permission to display the statues in Washington, DC.

The anonymous artist says Jimenez-Pizik only helped the group apply for permits – and now she’s being bombarded with questions as new statues mysteriously appear.

The only surviving statue is the original – a replica of Pelosi’s desk, although it, too, has been vandalized. In recent days, someone tore the Pelosi nameplate off the piece, although it has since been replaced.

The man did not say whether more statues might appear before Election Day. “There are still a few days until the election,” he said. “So it’s possible.”
