The Pistons’ young guard put on some amazing dunks against the 76ers.

Jaden Ivey and the Detroit Pistons earned their first win in style.

During Wednesday night’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers, Ivey had another productive night in the scoring department. While the young guard shined alongside backcourt mate Cade Cunningham, Ivey scored some points with dunks that went viral on social media.

Ivey and the Pistons were a team on a mission Wednesday night. While they have fought hard in every match so far, it was clear that Wednesday’s game could have meant a little more for a few reasons.

First, this was Tobias Harris’ first game in Philadelphia since he joined the Pistons in the summer. With Harris being Detroit’s veteran leader, the young group wanted to help their offense overcome a hostile crowd and win at their home.

Second, the Pistons needed to get into the win column. They had a 0-4 record heading into Wednesday’s game. After a 14-68 season, Detroit entered the 2024-25 season with hopes of turning things around. At the beginning of the year they looked and felt better, but this is not indicated in the protocol. Clearly there was motivation to start making a difference this week.

Next up, Ivey and the Pistons take on the New York Knicks at home on Friday night. In their first four games of the new season, the Knicks posted a 2–2 record. It won’t be an easy battle for Detroit, but they’re battle-tested enough early on. Friday’s game will begin at 7:00 pm ET.
