At first I wondered why she still had all this stuff, but then I plugged in a very dirty old iPod Touch and to my surprise it started playing! And it was full of music that I had forgotten even existed. It didn’t have Wi-Fi or Bluetooth capabilities, but it was truly a time capsule.

My mom didn’t actively use anything out of the box, but it got me thinking. Are there other parents who not only hold outdated technologies, gadgets and other items, but still use their? So if your mom or dad is out there using something very old fashioned and refusing to get rid of it, I want to hear from you.

Maybe your dad bought a set-it-and-forget-it device. Ronco Grill in 2001 and still pulls it out from time to time. And the food is delicious, so don’t complain.

Or maybe your mom still has a landline, even though she only gets spam and robocalls and you have to lecture her about scammers on a weekly basis. BUT, you totally understand why she keeps it because every time you use it, you feel a lot of nostalgia.

Maybe your parents’ bookcase still has a bunch of Beanie Babies on it – Princess Di’s bear front and center. And yes, they take up an entire shelf and are just gathering dust, but it’s impossible not to smile when you see them.
