Jets rookie Malachi Corley dropped the ball on the goal line and turned the touchdown into a turnover.

Thursday Night Football match between New York Jets And Houston Texans Week 9 started with five punts, two fumbles and zero points. The Jets nearly scored a touchdown, but rookie receiver Malachi Corley dropped the ball on the goal line and turned an easy touchdown into a devastating fumble.

Corley ran the circle on the first play of the second quarter and delivered the ball untouched into the end zone. Or so we thought.

As Kirk Herbstreit immediately noted, it looked like Corley dropped the ball before he entered the end zone. After reviewing the play, Herbstreit’s guess was confirmed.

Because the ball rolled out of the end zone, it was a touchback for the defense. The Jets went from leading to returning to a scoreless defense.

In a season of terrible moments for the Jets, this one was almost unbelievable. Almost.
