Hindu temple will replace EnterTRAINment intersection

A Hindu temple will occupy the space of a model train. West Chester amusement park.

Tri-State Umiya DharmaA Hindu organization currently based in Mason plans to buy and redevelop the six-acre EnterTRAINment Junction site into a temple, according to a zoning application filed with West Chester County officials. EnterTRAINment intersection will close in January.

According to the statement, the religious organization intends to expand the roof of the building and turn the external railway tracks into playgrounds. The 80,000-square-foot building’s interior will be renovated to include a dining hall, auditorium, sanctuary, kitchen, riser, multiple offices, study space and storage space.

The West Chester Board of Trustees voted to approve the rezoning request for the redevelopment on Oct. 23. During the meeting, Trustee Anne Becker said the temple would be a “good fit” for the space due to its large size, accessibility and parking. .

The property, located at 7379 Squire Court near Interstate 75, is owned by Squire Road Property, LLC.

Owner EnterTRAINment Junction Don Others announced plans to close the 16-year-old attraction in June.

“This has been a labor of love over the years, and a lot of really good people have poured their hearts and souls into this project to make it the best family attraction possible,” he said in a press release.
