Rylan announced his upcoming absence from the show in September, telling fans that his mum, who he appears with on Gogglebox, had suffered a serious fall while they were on holiday together.

He told fans: “Unfortunately, I decided to take my mom Linda on vacation… She hasn’t gone away for 10 years. So what (was) she going to do?”

“You fell and broke your arm and leg, what are you going to do? Classic Linda, classic Linda. Now the arm and leg are a little broken, (I) can deal with that, but when you accept that with everything else (what’s) wrong with her? It’s a nightmare, especially abroad.”

Despite the ordeal, the duo returned home safely, where Linda underwent surgery. She still needed help with daily activities, but luckily she had a very helpful son who was willing to lend a hand.
