Feds have charged 15 people in a widespread fentanyl trafficking ring in Lorain County.

LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio (VOYO) – Federal authorities announced charges against 15 people involved in the trafficking of fentanyl in Lorain County.

A months-long investigation revealed that more than a dozen people were involved in a widespread conspiracy to distribute fentanyl.

According to the press release, the following people are charged in the case:

  • Ronald Whittaker, 31, Cleveland, Ohio
  • Tyvez McCallum, 30, Elyria, Ohio
  • Ivan Barrios, 45, Lorain, Ohio
  • Tavon Martin, 28, Lorain, Ohio
  • Jayvon Vint, 27, Lorain, Ohio
  • Katlynn Caudill, 22, Lorain, Ohio
  • Nicholas Thomson, 47, Elyria, Ohio
  • Max Kennedy, 19, Wellington, Ohio.
  • Jordan Johnson, 29, Elyria, Ohio
  • Angela Schuck, 35, Lorain, Ohio
  • Stacy Thomson, 48, Elyria, Ohio
  • Tyrone Phillips, 25, Elyria, Ohio
  • Joseph Kushner, 32, Berea, Ohio
  • Nicholas Burkholder, 29, Elyria, Ohio
  • Aubrey Brown, 29, Elyria, Ohio

The press release states that two people are accused of leading the conspiracy – McCallum and Whittaker.

Here’s how authorities say it all worked: Whittaker delivered pills to McCallum. McCallum redistributed the fentanyl pills to the others. These individuals would then distribute fentanyl pills in the Elyria and Lorain areas.

According to the report, the human trafficking ring operated from May 2023 to October 2024.

During this time, the defendants distributed at least 4,406.25 grams of fentanyl and/or 42,793 blue fentanyl pills, officials said.

Federal authorities said that during the arrests, agents found thousands of fentanyl pills similar to legal prescription drugs, as well as weapons and cash.
