Meghan Kelly criticized President Biden on Wednesday for mentioning Donald Trump supporters are like “garbage” — calling the remark a sign that he was “suffering from dementia.”

In an exclusive interview with The Post, the popular podcaster said the comment was another sign that Biden, 81, is losing his mental acuity.

“I think Joe Biden is suffering from some kind of dementia that makes it difficult for him to talk about how he really feels,” the show’s host said. “The Megyn Kelly Show” SiriusXM told The Post.

Biden sparked outrage Tuesday by declaring, “The only trash I see out there are (Donald Trump) supporters.”

Kelly compared the comment to other notorious Democratic attacks on Republican voters, noting that Barack Obama’s 2008 “bitter clinging” jab And Hillary Clinton’s infamous 2016 statement about Trump supporters being a “basket of disgusting people.”

“This was just the latest in a long series of insults that Democrats speak out about Republican voters” said Kelly, who will be covering the election during stream her show live on SiriusXM and YouTubestarting Tuesday at 20:00

“They called Trump a fascist, a Nazi and a white supremacist, and now we are trash. We are all trash—anyone who voted for Donald Trump.”

Biden confidants on CNN defended the president, saying the remark was due to his stutter and that his reference to “garbage” was aimed at comedian Tony Hinchcliffewho joked about Puerto Rico being a “floating island of garbage.” during a pro-Trump rally at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

Kelly ridiculed the idea, saying that even mainstream news outlets such as Axios and the Associated Press did not accept the claim.

“I don’t believe for a second that it was a slip of the tongue (or) unintentional,” Kelly said.

“This bridge is too far for us. We’re not going to cover it up like that. We all heard what he said.”

According to the former Fox News and NBC “Today” show host, Biden did the Trump campaign a favor by moving away from Hinchcliffe’s joke and focusing on his comments about Trump voters.

“Joe Biden saved them,” Kelly said.

She added that “what’s so great about this controversy is the same media and Democrats who spent 48 hours telling us how deeply wrong it is to call any group trash… are now having a very hard time turning a corner.”
