Bath Hospital needs volunteers to research cures for stroke

According to the foundation, Milvexian thins the blood, helping to reduce the risk of blood clots forming in the bloodstream.

It says study participants will be randomly assigned to take Milvexian or a placebo in addition to standard medications recommended by their doctor.

Patients are then seen at the RUH every 13 weeks and undergo tests including blood tests and liver and kidney function tests.

Ms Spencer said she was delighted the hospital was taking part in “such an important study”.

“RUH is highly respected for its commitment to research, and research like this reflects our ongoing work to support vital medical research that can help us better care for our patients now and in the future,” she said.
