Popular e-bike maker unveils new model with unique frame – that’s what sets it apart from the rest

Heybike hopes to take your off-road adventures with its new hero modelBut e-bike still performs best on asphalt.

Popular e-bike the manufacturer recently presented its first carbon fiber model and marketing is as “the ultimate electric all-terrain bike, designed for thrill-seekers and adventure seekers alike.”

Forbes contributor William Roberson purchased the $2,499 model (it also offers $3,099 model) And wrote a review for the site.

The first thing to note about the Hero is that even though it has a lightweight carbon fiber frame, it is not lightweight. That’s 75 pounds and a weight savings of about 10 to 15 pounds over a comparable aluminum frame, Roberson says.

Part of the reason for this is that the Hero is a large motorcycle that can carry riders of all sizes. Roberson, who is 6 feet 1 inch tall, said trip was perfect for him. He also said his wife, who is 5ft 4in, could ride it comfortably, although she found it “big”.

A plus for all riders is the step-through design, which allows users to get in and out easily thanks to Hero’s unique frame design. Another advantage is the Heybike’s signature four-inch-wide fat tires. e-bikes lines and can handle a wide range of terrain.

To test the Hero’s off-road capabilities, Roberson rode local mountain biking trails with mixed results.

The 1000W rear gear motor handled most grades comfortably with or without pedaling, which was a plus. Pedaling is done through a Shimano nine-speed rear derailleur, which Roberson wrote doesn’t have the ideal gearing for very steep climbs. He noted that handling was a little unwieldy on the fat tires, although the fat tires handled all sorts of obstacles well.

Downhill was a little more limited, with Roberson breaking Hero’s compression limit when he went to an aggressive pace. He also mentioned that the RSX’s disc brakes are a little small for steep mountain biking descents.

However, on the sidewalk Roberson is delighted about Hero’s “smooth, smooth and fast e-bike” and called it a “superb city bike”.

In terms of speed, the e-bike reaches speeds of up to 35 mph at maximum power and has a maximum pedal speed of 28 mph. Roberson was able to reach 33 mph on a flat road while pedaling hard. He hit 40mph on the steep descent and praised Hero for remaining “calm and composed”.

The bike has a range of 60 miles, although this is unlikely at the highest speeds.

The hero gives one more tempting e-bike so that consumers can try as transit alternative. E-bikes less traffic jams and reduce individual contributions to air pollution and noise.

Companies like Beam Global hope to make parking and charging more convenient for racers.

For consumers interested in Hero, it is available in several variants on the website Heibike website. It’s also worth noting that Roberson thinks this could be a “formidable commuter car” if you add some racks and fenders.
