Harris will appear on Saturday Night Live

vice president Kamala Harris will appear on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, according to three people familiar with the plans.

This will be the last episode before the elections. The host is actor and comedian John Mulaney, and the musical guest is Chappell Roan.

Harris’ cameo on the long-running variety series, played by actress Maya Rudolph, takes her to New York, away from the battleground states where she visited the final stages of the campaign. On Saturday, Harris held a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“Maya Rudolph — I mean, she’s so good,” Harris said of her impression on “The View” last month, also praising her “manners.” “She had everything: a suit, jewelry, everything!”

Jason Miller, a senior adviser to the Trump campaign, said “SNL” has been “crushing” her all season and being on the show is “crazy.”

Asked by reporters if the show had invited Trump as a guest, he replied: “Probably not. I don’t know”.

A representative for “Saturday Night Live” did not respond to a request for comment on whether it had invited Trump to speak.

Presidential candidates from both major parties have appeared on “SNL” in recent years.

Trump hosted the show in November 2015.prompting a demonstration by hundreds of protesters who opposed his comments about undocumented immigrants. A month earlier, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton played a cameo role in the series and impersonated Trump.

Barack Obama too starred in a cameo role in 2007, when he was running for the Democratic presidential nomination. The following year, then-Gov. Sarah Palin appeared on the show just weeks before the election as the Republican vice presidential candidate.

“SNL” and NBC News share parent company NBCUniversal.
