Kamala Harris impersonates Maya Rudolph in Saturday Night Live Cold Open

Three days before the elections Kamala Harris starred in a cameo role Saturday Night Live coldly open, shares a few words with the woman who plays her, Maya Rudolphas she prepared to give her campaign’s final speech.

“I’m here to remind you, you got this because you can do something your opponent can’t do: you can open doors,” the real Harris told Rudolph’s Kamala, joking about Donald Trump’s garbage truck stunt last week. .

Then Rudolph’s Kamala laughed – and this became the source of Trump’s ridicule.

“I don’t really laugh that much, do I?” asked the real Harris.

“Ahhh… a little,” Rudolph’s Kamala responded.

The skit was a boost for Harris as it showed a weary and exhausted Trump (James Austin Johnson) crashing at one of his rallies and gave the real vice president a chance to give a speech.

“I will vote for us!” Rudolph’s Kamala said at the end of the sketch.

“Any chance you’re registered in Pennsylvania?” asked the real Harris.

“No, that’s not true,” said Rudolph.

“Well, it’s worth a try,” the real Harris said before they both shouted, “Live from New York, this is Saturday evening!”

Harris and Rudolph appeared together beforeand a fundraiser for the 2020 Biden-Harris campaign, when they were also joined by Hillary Clinton and her SNL lookalike Amy Poehler.

The rumor that Harris would make a cameo leaked tonight and became evident when her campaign made a stop in New York and then Rockefeller Center, arriving around 8 p.m. ET.

Harris’ appearance was the first for a presidential candidate since John McCain appeared on the show in 2008, just days before the election. Nikki Haley was the last presidential candidate to make a cameo appearance earlier this year. Donald Trump’s last appearance was in November 2015, when he hosted a show in the midst of the Republican primaries.

In addition to Rudolph as Harris and Johnson as Trump, the sketch featured Andy Samberg as Doug Emhoff, Bowen Young as J.D. Vance, Jim Gaffigan as Tim Waltz and Dana Carvey as Joe Biden. They’ve appeared in almost every cold opening this season.
