Harris appears on Saturday Night Live; Trump speaks in North Carolina

Voters came from near and far to see former first lady Michelle Obama campaign for Harris in suburban Philadelphia tonight, and some are regulars at campaign events in battleground states.

The event in Montgomery County was Stacy Hanley and John Kupiec’s third in just the past two weeks, the couple told NBC News.

The two had already voted for Harris by mail in the swing state, but not before they attended a Trump rally, he said.

“Last week we went to a Kamala Harris event in Philadelphia and a (Donald) Trump rally in State College,” Kupiec told NBC News.

“We wanted to see for ourselves what it would be like,” Hanley said. “We watch a lot of news and wanted to see if what they say is true. You know, Kamala said, “Go to a Trump rally.” We did it.”

During the only presidential debate in September, Harris said: “I invite you to attend one of Donald Trump’s rallies. … The only thing you won’t hear him talk about is you. You won’t hear him talk about your needs, dreams and desires.”

Hanley, a lifelong registered independent, took her seriously.

“Most of my family is very Republican, all pro-Trump, and I want to be able to tell them that actually I saw both sides and I made a decision based on all the information I could get and not just a one-sided point.” vision. And I still support Kamala,” she said.

The couple said that despite “dressing appropriately”, the rally was “quiet” and there was little interaction between participants. Hanley said she was wearing a “red T-shirt” and some “red, white and blue things” because she was going “to enemy territory.”

“When we first walked in, there were a lot of people there, and it really made us nervous, like, ‘Oh my God, all these people are here for him,'” Hanley noted, noting that Trump was late to the rally and many of his supporters had already left. when he started his speech.

“But watching the outcome happen, which we saw on television, and now we know it as a fact, gave me a little bit of hope that a lot of people were there for the same reason that we had to see it ourselves. ” she said.
