Kamala Harris Appears on “Saturday Night Live” and Surprisingly Leads in Iowa Poll

Kamala Harris suddenly appeared on Saturday Night Live poll showed she was surprisingly ahead in Iowa US elections rival Donald Trump.

The vice president appeared on an American television program along with the host of the regular show, Maya Rudolph. who dressed up as her double.

Rudolph stepped aside for a moment to reflect before his final campaign speech, seeing the real Ms. Harris as she looked in the mirror.

“I just wish I could talk to someone who has been in my shoes,” she said minutes before the Democratic presidential candidate appeared. “You know, a black, South Asian woman running for president, preferably from the Bay Area.”

The pair encourage each other before deciding to “end the dram-ala” and “keep Kamala and carry on a-la.”

The skit comes after the Des Moines Register published its latest investigation showing that Ms. Harris took a three-point lead over her rival in territory considered safe for Republicans.

Iowa is not among the seven battleground states that both candidates have turned their attention to ahead of Tuesday’s vote.

The focus was on Georgia, North Carolina, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

On the campaign trail earlier Saturday in Atlanta, Ms. Harris said Mr. Trump would abuse his power if he returned to the White House.

“This is a person who is becoming increasingly unstable, obsessed with revenge, consumed by resentment, and this is a person who seeks unlimited power,” she said.

At a rally in Salem, Virginia, Trump said he was running for president to save the economy from “destruction” even though it would be easier to relax at one of his oceanfront resorts.

“I didn’t need to be here today,” he said. “I could stand on this beach, my beautiful white skin turning beautiful, and get hit in the face by a wave filled with salt water.”

Trump was joined on stage by women from a local college swim team who objected to competing with transgender athletes.

Some of Trump’s television ads have tried to capitalize on the transgender controversy.
