Prince Harry and Meghan’s separate projects ‘could work in the long term’ | Royal | News

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s latest decision to split professionally could benefit the royal duo in the long run, says a public relations expert.

In recent months, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have gradually separated their professional projects, allowing the couple to focus on specific activities.

Meghan Markle attended the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles gala and digital wellness initiative in Santa Barbara, while Harry traveled to New York, London and South Africa to “promote a number of his patronage and philanthropic initiatives.”

Renee Smith, founder and director of a PR firm Attismexclusively told Express.co.uk that while their latest decision to go solo may benefit them in the long term, it could cause negative consequences in the short term.

The expert said: “I think their decision to go after individual brands could actually benefit them in the long term, although it’s bound to cause a lot of public speculation in the short term.”

Commenting on the couple pursuing their own interests, she said: “From a PR perspective, this shift could allow each of them to create separate brands that better reflect their different priorities and resonate more coherently with their individual audiences.”

She believes the Sussex brand has failed to realize its true potential because it lacks “momentum and a cohesive identity” due to the couple’s “divergent interests.”

The public relations expert added: “By going it alone, they can create brands that truly reflect their own values, without having to constantly negotiate each other’s interests.”
