A woman who sent her husband a video of a Shropshire business on fire and chanted “ring of fire” has avoided jail.

Amy Pugh of Penn Road Dudleywas sentenced to Shrewsbury Crown Court after pleading guilty to one count of arson in connection with the incident.

Andrew Wilkins, prosecuting, explained how Pugh, 34, set fire to the garage at the house she shared with her late husband Kyle Pugh in Aston Drive, Newport.

The incident occurred on October 15, 2021. Pugh died in March 2022.

The court was told the couple had been at a funeral on the day of the fire and had argued after drinking at the wake.

Mr Wilkins said the fight continued when they returned home.

When Mr. Pugh left the house, his wife went into the garage where her husband ran his art business and set fire to some of his works.

Flames engulfed the building, destroying commercial equipment and leading to emergency calls for a “domestic incident and garage fire” around 8:57 p.m.

Mr Wilkins told how Pugh blamed her husband for the fire.

He added: “All these conversations with the officers were lies.”

Boberski was found guilty at Shrewsbury Crown Court.

The court was told how officers found an open iPad on Facebook Messenger with photographs of the fire sent by Pugh to an account called “hubby”.
