Former Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice shared the exciting news with fans on social media, thanking them for their continued support.

The 34-year-old Italian dancer posted on his page Instagram stories to thank my supporters for their tremendous support. He expressed his gratitude despite competing in the Ballando con le Stelle competition, which he describes as the Italian version of Dancing with the Stars. Giovanni is currently Bianca Guaccero’s partner in the series.

He wrote: “Apparently… I’ve been told that every week we get thousands and thousands of votes from the UK, Ireland and Scotland… you’re a dream! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Week 7 has arrived. We need your support until the end.”

Giovanni recently faced controversy over alleged abusive behavior towards his former dance partners, including Amanda Abbington, although he has consistently denied the allegations.

Based on the results of the investigation conducted BBCthe dancer expressed relief and gratitude, saying he was “happy” the charges against him were dropped.

In a heartfelt post from September, he shared: “It’s over, it’s over, six months, seven months of it all. Seven months of reading the news in the newspaper every day and not being able to respond because I wanted to keep the privacy and confidentiality of the review, (those) were difficult times. It was difficult because, you know, reading things that weren’t true wasn’t the most enjoyable time of my life, let’s be honest.”

He added: “But today I am happy because in the beginning there were very, very serious allegations made against me, but today none of the serious allegations were confirmed.” Giovanni expressed relief that he was finally “getting to do what he was born to do.”

“All allegations of threatening, abusive behavior and harassment have not been substantiated. Today is a day for us all to reflect because I understand that dancing is a very difficult activity,” he added.

“This is a sport, it’s something difficult in every way, and sometimes you get frustrated as a teacher, as a dancer, as a performer. But the only reason you’re upset is because you care about what you’re doing. You know, as a professional, as a teacher, I want to get the best out of my partner, but sometimes it frustrates me. I think everyone all over the world does the same thing, it’s called being a professional and I like to do it.

“You know, even now I get upset with Bianca (Guaccero, his partner in the Italian equivalent of Strictly, Ballando con le Stelle), I think that’s normal, but then you give it better and the results come to the fore.”
