Two women were injured after falling from a mountain slide

TANY COUNTY, MO (KY3/Gray News) – Two women were injured after falling from a mountain slide, authorities said.

Jim Ferguson with the West Taney County Fire Department said firefighters were called to Shepherd Hills near Branson, Missouri, around 6 p.m.

Ferguson said two women suffered moderate injuries after falling from a cart at the Copperhead Mountain Coaster. The women were taken to the hospital.

The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the incident.

The women were in their 50s and fell from the cart at a curve about six feet above the ground, according to the fire department.

The attraction is closed and will not be allowed to reopen until officials complete their investigation.

Copperhead Mountain Coaster is a 4,800-foot mountain coaster, according to Shepherd of the Hills. website.
