(CBS Detroit) — Vice President Kamala Harris shared a final message to Arab American voters during a campaign stop in Detroit on Sunday.

“I am honored to have the support of many Arab-American leaders who represent the interests and concerns of the Arab-American community,” Harris told reporters. “But I also know well enough to know that it’s not a monolith.”

Harris said there are issues that all Americans face, and some of them are specific to what’s happening in the United States. Gaza.

“The death rate of innocent Palestinians is unfathomable,” she said. “We need to end the war and free the hostages.”

She continued her speech by saying the issues are “different” for every voter.

Harris spoke to reporters after attending a church service at the Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God in Christ in Detroit, less than 48 hours before Election Day.

Metro Detroit is home to the largest concentration of Arab Americans in the country, many of whom live in Dearborn.

During a campaign stop in Detroit last month. former President Donald Trump said he doesn’t think The Arab-American community would vote for Harris “because she doesn’t know what she’s doing.”

Harris was scheduled to speak at a rally in East Lansing on Sunday night. Trump intends hold a campaign rally in Grand Rapids on Monday evening.

On Saturday the vice president made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live.
