A pair of Munich superbikes, the 2025 BMW Motorrad M1000RR and S1000RR, will receive updates next year. In Malaysia, the 2024 BMW Motorrad M1000RR is priced at RM297,500, while the S1000RR is priced at RM132,500.

New for 2025 is the addition of a short-throw “M” throttle body on both the M1000RR and S1000RR, offering a 58-degree steering angle. This allows the driver to quickly increase engine speed to the redline.

In the M1000RR, the inline-four engine has been “overhauled” and now produces 218 hp, an increase of 6 hp. more than in the previous generation. This is achieved by using a cylinder head with a new port design, a new combustion chamber shape, full-shaft titanium valves with new tulip and seat geometry on the intake and exhaust sides, and a new engine mount.

The aerodynamics of the M1000RR have also been optimized with M Winglets 3.0, delivering increased downforce for faster lap times on the race track. The Flex Frame has also been improved and now includes the previously mentioned new engine mount on the left side.

The electronic Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) package now includes Slide Control thanks to steering angle sensor technology. This splits the DTC functions into Slip Control and Slide Control for better handling when cornering on the highway.

The introduction of steering angle sensor technology also results in the new Brake Slide Assist function in BMW Race ABS Pro. In combination with the M short-throw throttle, this results in increased performance and controllability.

The M1000RR’s bodywork has also been modified, with the fairing, front wheel housing and engine spoiler now made from plastic and the M Aero wheel covers removed. The M 1000 RR is available in two variants: the base model in the base color Lightwhite uni with Michael van der Mark’s race number “60” and the M 1000 RR M Competition in metallic Blackstorm with the number “54” of World Superbike Champion Toprak Razgatlioglu. , each of which is combined with graphics in M colors.

Meanwhile, the S1000RR gets new aerodynamic winglets and new side fairings. Additionally, there is a new front wheel casing with channels for cooling the brake calipers.

The S1000RR now gets Pro riding modes as standard, including an optional Race Pro mode that gives two additional combinations of throttle response and engine torque, as well as Engine Brake and Hill Start Control Pro features. There’s also five-level adjustable ABS in ‘Race Pro’ and ‘Slick’ ABS settings, while Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) is standard.

The new S1000RR is available in three paint finishes: the base variant in Blackstorm Metallic, the Sport variant in Bluestone Metallic with matte graphics and the M Motorsport variant in Lightwhite uni/M Motorsport in combination with the M package.
