Former CCEA exams boss settles case for £100,000

Former CCEA exams boss settles case for £100,000

Ms Farragher delivered the first summer GCSE, BTEC, AS and A-level exams in Northern Ireland taken by CCEA students since the Covid pandemic.

But she resigned in June 2022 before students were graded.

In her resignation letter, she said she was “treated less favorably within the organization and faced constant harassment and bullying.”

She said this made her position “untenable”.

In her resignation letter, Ms Farragher said she had also advised CCEA officials “of the difficulties I have encountered since taking up this role”.

When BBC News NI contacted her legal representative about the settlement of her case, Ms Farragher issued a statement.

“I’m glad the process is finally over,” she said.

“I am grateful to my many colleagues, principals and teachers’ associations for their unwavering support,” she said.

Ms Farragher is currently the chief executive of the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), the organization that represents the eight largest qualifications providers in the UK.
