Explained: Salman Khan’s Chulbul Pandey cameo in Singham Again and its relevance in Rohit Shetty’s verse.

Actor Salman Khan has officially appeared in Rohit Shetty’s verse from Singham Again. The film’s post-credits scene included a sneak peek at the superstar holding hands with Ajay Devgn in Shetty’s Indian Police world. But what does this cameo mean for viewers? How is Rohit Shetty going to integrate Dabangg’s Chulbul Pandey into his cop-verse? Here’s a possible explanation.

Salman Khan joins the cops as one of his most iconic on-screen characters, the flamboyant Chulbul Pandey, who is currently serving with the Uttar Pradesh Police. The character from three Dabangg films has not met any cop hero from other states so far. This is the first time Chulbul has left his jurisdiction and teamed up with another decorated cop for a mission.

His quick glance at the end of Singham Again sets the stage for Shetty’s next film, tentatively titled Mission Chulbul Singham. It is not yet clear how long the film will take to make. However, Singham Again makes several references to how Shetty could simply pull off this bold integration.

Spoiler ahead:

As seen in the movie Singham Again, IPS Bajirao Singham was appointed as the Special Squad Chief. As the leader of this unit, he was tasked with selecting special police officers from across the country and bringing them together for a joint mission. This is how he manages to bring Simba (Ranveer Singh), Sooryavanshi (Akshay Kumar), Shakti Shetty (Deepika Padukone) and Satya (Tiger Shroff) together and form a special team to defeat Dangerous Lanka aka Zubair (Arjun Kapoor).

While talking to the Home Minister (played by Ravi Kishan) in one scene, he is informed that his special squad will have its own rules and tasks and will report directly to the Home Ministry. Singham is also told that he is not afraid of the system and its rules.

In the post-credits scene, Salman simply enters Singham’s cabin and asks him to greet him in his signature manner:Swagat nahi karoge humara? (Won’t you greet me?).” Ajay simply turns and smiles widely. While nothing more has been revealed about this fantastic alliance, it is safe to assume that Chulbul Pandey will be a member of the special squad of Singham officers fighting terrorism and injustice in the country.

It should be noted that the cop-verse includes characters from most of the states and languages of India. While Singham and Simba represent the Maharashtra belt, Shakti and Satya represent the South. Suryavanshi is expected to be from the Rajasthan belt while Chulbul might just represent the UP region in the team. Let’s not forget Sidharth Malhotra from the director’s web series Indian Police, who plays a Delhi cop.

The idea is to allow each character to bring their own uniqueness to the film, even when their powers are combined for the same mission.
