Manchester United drew with Chelsea on Sunday afternoon and Gary Neville was left concerned about one player’s performance.

United sack Erik ten Hag last Monday and quickly announced his successor Ruben Amorim named United’s new manager on Friday.

Amorim won’t actually arrive until the international break so will leave Van Nistelrooy to take charge of three more United games.

The first came on Sunday and United looked to be heading for a 1-0 victory after Bruno Fernandes scored a penalty.

However, Chelsea hit back through Moises Caicedo, handing the Blues a share of the victory in a 1-1 draw.

Gary Neville is concerned about the Manchester United player’s condition

It was a fairly shambolic game and moments of genuine quality were rare.

United remain wasteful in the final third and Manuel Ugarte didn’t quite take advantage of his chance in United’s engine room.

United fans expressed concern about Ugarte’s performance against Chelsea. as the Uruguayan failed to make an impact.

Ugarte joins United from PSG on transfer deadline day in a deal that could reach £50 million.

However, Ugarte’s United career is yet to begin and fans have yet to see the return on such a significant investment.

After committing a foul on Cole Palmer, Gary Neville said Sky Sport (March 11, 5:10 p.m.) Ugarte really needs consistency for United.

Neville feels Ugarte didn’t really have the chance to find his best form but saw the game against Chelsea as a “struggle” for him.

“He just needs a series of games, Manuel Ugarte,” Neville said. “He didn’t have a chance to start the game, he’s going to struggle,” he added.

However, this has not helped Ugarta gain momentum and the midfielder still looks a little behind the pace of play in the Premier League.

The stats don’t look good based on Ugarte’s performance on Sunday: he has six fouls; only Pervis Estupinan has committed more fouls in Premier League matches this season.

Moving from Ligue 1 to the Premier League is no easy task and Ugarta may just need time to prove himself.

Luckily, Ugarte will soon have a very familiar face to guide his development.

New coach Amorim turned Ugarte into a Sporting star, helping him earn his crucial move to PSG in 2023.

Van Nistelrooy believes Ugarte will shine under Amorim and United fans will certainly hope that is the case after another difficult day.
