Welcome to Wrexham The Stars are selling a minority stake in Wrexham AFC and also buying local brewer Wrexham Lager.

Reynolds and McElhenney are selling their interest to the Allyn family of New York. The wealthy family will become minority owners of Wrexham AFC and will also become part of Wrexham Lager Beer Co. Ltd. through a new company: Red Dragon Ventures.

“Wrexham has captured the world’s attention and we are focused on attracting world-class partners to help with the next stage of our growth,” Reynolds and McElhenney said in a statement to Hollywood Reporter.

“We have been fortunate to meet the Allyn family and are amazed by their intelligence, kindness and dedication. They are exactly the partners we will need for this amazing endeavor.”

In a statement, Eric Allyn, manager and chief investment officer of Allyn’s Family Office, said his family is “focused on building great companies as well as lifting up great communities.”

“Our multi-year efforts in the Syracuse region are similar to what Rob and Ryan started in Wrexham. We see Red Dragon Ventures as a vehicle to invest in a world-class football club and, importantly, in the welcoming community of Wrexham,” Allyn said.

Wrexham Lager is the oldest lager brewery in the United Kingdom, opening in Wales in 1882. The brewery has been owned by the Roberts family since 2011, and they will remain co-owners along with Reynolds and McElhenney.

The beer company plans to distribute its lager in Canada and the United States in the near future. Hollywood Reporter marked.
