Enzo Maresca reflects on the difficulties his team faced against Manchester United

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca said he was “pleased” with his team’s performance in Sunday’s 1-1 draw and that they were “aware of the difficulties Manchester United may face.”

“We knew it would be a difficult game for many reasons. We scored, we came back. After the goal we tried to win. We are happy because we knew how difficult it would be. Manchester United players want to prove that they are “good enough.” The new coach has different ideas, so we had to prepare differently,” said Enzo Maresca.

Moises Caicedo had an evening to remember at Old Trafford as he put in a superb performance, including his thunderous volley which ultimately proved to be Chelsea’s decisive goal.

The Ecuadorian midfielder now has the most combined tackles and interceptions (52) of any player in the Premier League this season.
