Roanoke City is offering free rides to the polls on Election Day

ROANOKE, Virginia ((WFXR) – Free rides will be available to polling places in the City of Roanoke to help Roanoke residents on Election Day 2024.

On Tuesday, November 5th Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home & Crematory provides free transportation to various polling stations from 10:00 to 17:00.

“We are pleased to offer free rides to Roanoke City for those who want to vote,” said President/Owner Michael L. Hamlar.

Voters are encouraged to call Hamlar-Curtis 24 hours before traveling, but calls will be accepted on Election Day.

Danville offers transit service to residents on Election Day

“If someone wants to vote, transportation shouldn’t be a problem. We’re just trying to do our civic duty,” says Michael L. Hamlar. “This is a non-partisan effort.”

Hamlar-Curtis reminds all voters to bring their identification with them on Tuesday.

Valley Metro Roanoke is also offering free bus rides on Election Day so residents can vote at multiple locations around the city.
