Election Day is evidence that Mike Tyson and Jake Paul They are united not only by their love of boxing and the promise to knock each other out.

As the two fighters prepare for their heavyweight bout on November 15, they have one more thing in common: closeness to the fight. Donald Trump and connections to the Republican nominee and former president.

Before the 2016 election, Tyson told the Huffington Post: “He should be president of the United States. Hell yes, big time!” Although Tyson has not publicly expressed support this year, he has made it clear in spontaneous remarks that he still supports Trump.

Their relationship began in the 1980s, when Trump brought Tyson fights to Atlantic City.

“I always remember that he was a good guy who paid me a lot of money,” Tyson said with a laugh in 2022 during an appearance on the New York Post Sports podcast.

Tyson should also remember that Trump defended him after Tyson was convicted in 1992 of raping Desiree Washington, then an 18-year-old Miss Black America beauty pageant contestant.

“They interfered with this matter,” Trump once said.

Paul’s history with Trump is less well known. But on July 29, Paul posted a video on his Instagram page of himself and Trump fighting each other like two boxers.

The background indicated that they were both attending a cryptocurrency conference in Nashville, Tennessee.

In a political video Paul later created, he said: “Because I moved to Puerto Rico in pursuit of becoming a world champion in my boxing career, I gave up my right to vote. But that doesn’t mean I can’t provide my 80 million-strong audience with hard facts, figures and data that will motivate them to vote in the right direction and literally save America.”
