Who will make it to the DWTS Season 33 finale? Cheryl Burke shares her thoughts on the six remaining couples

Who will make it to the DWTS Season 33 finale? Cheryl Burke shares her thoughts on the six remaining couples

The leaderboard continues to change. Dancing with the Stars so it’s anyone’s guess who will make it to the end. TV Insider talked to the two-time mirror ball champion Cheryl Burkepodcast host Sex, lies and self-tanningto find out her opinion and choose which couples will attend the finale of the show!

“I think Ilona (Maher) will make it to the finals,” says Burke. “Joey (Graziadei)too much. Maybe Chandler (Kinney). I can’t say anything about the rest. It could all depend on who can demonstrate vulnerability in the remaining weeks. “It’s about being human and being vulnerable,” Burke adds. “This is Ilona’s superpower. In fact, it belongs to everyone, but the question is, are you brave enough to use it?”

“The best dancer isn’t always the one who goes home with Len Goodman’s coveted mirrorball trophy,” suggests Burke. She offers insight into other factors that can help tip the scales in a couple’s favor. Read on to find out her opinion!

Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten

Although Olympic rugby player Maher received lower marks than other couples, she gets a ’10’ from fans because she wasn’t afraid to be vulnerable. “I don’t think anyone has the vulnerability that she does,” Burke says. “Ilona feels comfortable in her own skin. She doesn’t change who she is. She doesn’t change her personality.”

Being who you are and not being afraid to show it can, in some cases, trump dance ability, Burke suggests. “What you see is what you get with it. I see her vulnerability through her social media content. I can tell she really wants to be there. She wanted perfectionism, but that should never be the goal. It is an imperfection that affects people. We are all imperfect,” Burke adds. “It’s Ilona’s imperfections that make people root for her.”

Dwight Howard and Daniella Karagach

Burke knows all about the height difference, just as Karagach knows Howard; in season 11, she was paired with the basketball star-turned-actor. Rick Foxwho is 6 feet 7 inches tall. “It’s not even close,” Burke suggests. “I’m pretty sure Dwight is even taller (Note: He is 6’10”. He is lucky to have Danielle because she is an amazing dancer and is highly respected in the industry. She’s willing to think outside the box.”

Really. Karagach’s innovative choreography led to some creative numbers, most notably the duo’s modern Halloween dance, which received the first “10” of the season. “You could tell she wanted him to succeed,” Burke says. “They were pretty impressive on Halloween night.”

Burke adds that Howard also brings something invaluable to competition – the vulnerability he shows in his pre-dance videos. Burke has long believed that this package might be even more effective in getting couples’ votes than a great dance. “I believe one of the reasons Dwight is still here is because his packages are the realest and the most vulnerable,” Burke says. “You saw his struggle. They were saved by his and Danielle’s parcels.

Phaedra (Parks) went home before Dwight because he admitted in the package that he was still nervous,” Burke notes. “He said he was afraid of failure. Phaedra and Val (Chmerkovskiy) there was a “voltage” package. Who are you going to vote for? People underestimate the power of these packages.”

Danny Amendola and Witney Carson

Like a judge Derek HoughBurke said she was a little nervous about whether the former New England Patriots wide receiver would be a true contender. “Their contemporary was very emotional,” Burke says. “There’s a reason they were trending on social media.”

Burke credits the show’s executive producer Dina Katz, a genius who pairs stars with pros, for bringing Amendola and Carson, as well as other couples, together. “Dina knows the advantages So Well, says Burke. “She knows how to match each personality with who she’s going to play on the show.”

Pairing a dedicated athlete like Amendola with Carson was the right decision. “Whitney is pretty laid back,” Burke says. “She’s modest. She’s not an extrovert. There is a calmness about her. She is a true professional. I think she is the professional (who still competes) who has the most experience. I see her walking all over herself and Danny. I was impressed with their elevators. We know Danny can lift weights, but now we’ll see how he does it (in the non-lifting dance).”

Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson

“He’s certainly one of my finalists,” predicts Burke, who notes, “There’s never been a Bachelor win. He is the best of this series Dancing with the Stars never happened.” Burke says that while Graziadei is not a professional athlete, he shares some of the same traits. “He’s an athlete, a tennis player,” she says. “He knows how to teach and how to be a student. He is popular Bachelor there’s a franchise behind it too.”

Stephen Nedoroshik and Riley Arnold

The age difference between Nedoroshik and Arnold is about six years, but the chemistry between them brings them closer in age. Arnold shines this season because she has a partner whose popularity extends beyond social media; The undersized guy has real athletic/dance ability. It doesn’t hurt that they’re adorable.

“They’re America’s favorite,” Burke says. However, she is not sure how long they will continue to compete. “He’s also an athlete, so who knows? Riley’s forte is contemporary style. She did an amazing job choreographing this dance.”

Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong

Armstrong fans are still reeling from his early elimination in Season 32, when he and social media star and singer Lele Pons were eliminated in week seven (despite scoring more points than the other three that night pairs). DVTS Viewers love to see a professional who has never been one before experience the excitement of taking home a trophy.

What could hurt the duo, Burke argues, are attractive packages. “I think what helped them was that Carrie Ann (Inaba) I’m not giving them a 10 yet,” Burke says. “Everyone wants to see the fight. If you don’t fight, you can be forgotten. You want people to root for you. They root for people to improve.”

Burke’s advice to this couple: Be as real as possible. “I think it might help if they had a week off,” suggests the professional dancer. “Whether it’s a struggle in the rehearsal space or not, you can’t force him.”
