Additional information and body camera footage was released by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office after several viral videos circulating on social media showed two separate incidents in which sheriff’s deputies used force to detain patrons of a football game on Saturday.

The sheriff’s office said Monday that while its administrative review of the two incidents is ongoing, it has found no evidence of misconduct by the officers involved.

“In this case, the cell phone camera footage that has been circulating since Saturday does not fully reflect the circumstances of these incidents,” Sheriff TK Waters said at a news conference Monday afternoon.

“They (officers) handled it professionally, although it looks rough,” Waters added.

Total eight arrests and 35 expulsions That’s the result of Saturday’s football game between the University of Florida and the University of Georgia, Waters said.

Who was arrested?

Incident 1: Walter Brown

Incident 2: Michael Long, Alexander Long, Brandon Boley

What did the camera footage show?

1st Incident: Walter Brown

The first incident, which became part of the sheriff’s office administrative review, occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m. Saturday during the game.

The two children allegedly approached a stadium security officer, also known as a SECURITY officer, and asked to go to the part of the stadium for which they had tickets. According to the sheriff’s office, a SAFE employee told the children they should ask their parents and return with a ticket to enter.

During the interaction between the SAFE worker and the children, Walter Brown, identified by police as the children’s father, arrived and allegedly pushed the SAFE worker, accusing them of kidnapping his children.

Instead of communicating with Brown, the SAFE worker contacted sheriff’s deputies on duty at the game and reported what had happened.

When officers met with Brown, they notified him that he was being eliminated from the game, to which Brown responded, “No, he is not.”

Brown is then heard on police body camera footage saying, “You remember I told you I would either kill the cop or I wouldn’t leave.”

Brown can be heard using racial slurs at the officer several times as they tried to remove him from the stands.

Officers use a stun gun to subdue Brown as he does not comply with their orders.

However, even after Brown is struck several times with a Taser, he continues to struggle with the officers and even appears to attempt to remove the officer’s gun from its holster before the officers can finally take him away.

2nd Incident: Alexander and Michael Long, Brandon Boley

In a second and separate incident on Saturday another video posted on X showed According to a report from FOX 35 Orlando, an altercation broke out between sheriff’s deputies and fans during the football game.

The 15-second video was posted shortly before 7 p.m. ET and appears to show an officer repeatedly punching someone in the stands. The man tried to cover his face as he lay down on the steps of the aisle. In the same video, another officer appeared to punch another man further down the aisle.

Body camera footage released Monday by the sheriff’s office has shed some light on what led to the violent altercation between officers and game spectators.

Before the altercation, a woman who appeared to be at the game approached one of the officers and reported that there was a disturbance in the stands.

The officer followed the woman as she pointed to an area where there appeared to be some commotion.

When officers finally approached the subjects in question, what appeared to be stadium security was attempting to remove several men from the game.

When officers tried to remove the men, they did not comply.

After a fight ensued, officers were able to eject all three without further incident.

All officers involved in both incidents were still on active duty at this time.

A University of Florida spokesman declined to comment and referred questions to the sheriff’s office.
