With the 2024 election tomorrow, Chuck Norris explained why it is important for Christians to vote even if they feel their voices are not being heard.

A new research revealed a dismal statistic: 41 million Christians likely won’t vote this year. This lack of political participation can be attributed to a variety of factors, including that 68% of non-voters are not interested in politics, 57% dislike the major candidates and 52% believe their vote will not matter.

“Lack of trust in the process, disappointment in choices and general apathy towards the political sphere have left millions of believers on the sidelines,” explained Dr. George Barna, the study’s principal investigator.

Norris believes that this intense division is also caused by a misunderstanding of the role of religion in politics. Since the Founding Fathers wrote about the separation of church and state, modern politicians have led the public to believe that faith plays no role in how we vote.

“Nothing could be further from the truth,” Norris said. “The way I see it, re-educating and reviving the original intentions of the founders will actually help ignite the campaign fires of the entire faith community, regardless of your religious preference.”

Christianity, in fact, played a decisive role in the founding of our country.

“Religion played an important role in the American Revolution by offering a moral sanction for opposition to the British—an assurance to the average American that the revolution was justified in the eyes of God,” Norris wrote, citing the Library of Congress. “As one recent scholar has observed, “by making colonial resistance a righteous cause and proclaiming this message to all sections of the population in all parts of the colonies, ministers did the work of secular radicalism and made it better.”

The neglect of the role of faith in American politics began only in the 1950s, when the Johnson Amendment was passed. However, this law is misused when it intimidates religious leaders into keeping quiet about politics.

“This ban is contrary to our own history. Since the beginning of our nation, pastors and churches have been at the forefront of shaping public debate and our selection of public officials.” explained Tony Perkins.

While Christian leaders have been bullied into submission to remain silent on politics, Christians must not allow their voices to go unheard. Instead of sitting on the sidelines and allowing our country to slip further and further away from the “city on a hill” it was meant to be, people of faith need to fight for their beliefs; this is the only way to combat the moral decline that has devastated our country. If 41 million more Christian voices were to be heard in this election, our leaders would have to change course.
