Report of rape in Harrow-on-the-Hill leads to arrest

A man has been arrested after a woman said she was raped in north-west London on Saturday night.

Metropolitan Police were called at 23:45 GMT to a report of an assault in Church Hill, off the main street near Harrow School, Harrow-on-Hill.

Officers attended the scene and have since provided the woman with specialist support, the Met said.

The force added that the man arrested on Monday in connection with the incident remains in custody and investigations are ongoing.

Det Sgt Phil Inman said: “We know this will cause a lot of concern and anxiety in the area, particularly as the attack happened so close to the main street.”

It has appealed for CCTV images and dashcam footage taken between 22:00 and 00:00 GMT around St Mary’s Church, Churchfields Open Space and Grove Open Space to assist with the investigation.
