Five charged in robbery targeting Dollar General in Grand Bay.

MOBILE, Alas. (VALA) – The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office has arrested five people in connection with what authorities say is an organized group of thieves that targeted a Dollar General Store in Grand Bay.

Authorities said they were contacted on Oct. 10 about a possible organized group operating out of the store at 10477 Ramsey Road.

Since the store opened on March 26, 2023, it has lost $385,246 worth of inventory, according to MCSO. Through hours of surveillance video, detectives identified assistant store manager Brittany Forrest and store employee Kaleigh Kent, as well as three non-store employees—Karl Kent, Ophia Gordon and Irial Forrest—as allegedly involved in the crime. MCSO said the three non-employees are relatives or friends of two store employees.

Five were arrested on Thursday.

They have all been charged with organized retail theft and will appear in court on Tuesday.

Additional arrests are possible, MCSO said.
