Obituaries submitted on Saturday, Sunday and holidays will be accepted from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. only by email to [email protected].

Obituaries received after the deadline will not be published in the next issue of the newspaper.

Submission procedure:

Email is the preferred method of receiving obituaries (and the only method on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays). They can be sent to [email protected] (feel free to call and confirm we received the email).

Formatting:

Obituaries will still look the same visually as they do now, but you will no longer be limited in what you can say (for example, you can list as many family members as you want; wording such as “Goed to rest with the Lord” this is now allowed)

Another:

Each obituary has its own price. Rates and payments are only available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The cost of applications for weekends and holidays will be indicated on the next business day.

Exceptions:

All new clients, out-of-state funeral homes and private parties will require payment in advance upon obituary approval. Weekend and holiday employees are not allowed to create a new account or process payments.

The deadline for the above is before 16:00 from Monday to Friday. only (holiday schedule may change).

Applications requiring prepayment will be processed on the first business day following scheduled weekends and/or holidays. When submitting an obituary request, full name, address, and best contact phone number are required to set up an account. The proof will then be emailed for verification but will be delayed until payment is received.
