The Detroit Lions will acquire Za’Darius Smith from the Cleveland Browns. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

The Lions are expected to send a 2025 fifth-round draft pick and a 2026 sixth-round draft pick to Cleveland for Smith, as well as a 2026 seventh-round pick, according to reports.

Smith is expected to help fill the void left by the defense. Aidan Hutchinson broke his tibia and fibula last month, an injury ruled him out for the rest of the season.

In nine games this season, Smith has five sacks. His NFL record includes 65 sacks in 181 games with the Browns, as well as the Baltimore Ravens, Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings.
