Van Veen leaves St Mirren after being charged

Striker Kevin van Veen’s loan spell at St Mirren has been ended after he appeared in court on domestic violence charges last week, the club have confirmed.

The 33-year-old man failed to plead at Hamilton Sheriff Court to charges of offensive behavior towards his partner or ex-partner.

The case continued until November 28.

The Dutch striker joined Paisley on loan from Groningen in the summer, having previously played for Kilmarnock and Motherwell.

“St Mirren can confirm that Kevin van Veen’s loan has ended and he will return to his parent club Groningen,” the statement said.
