Miles Peart-Harris secured back-to-back wins for Swansea City, leaving Watford’s recent onslaught on a heavy shoulder.

The Hornets have made it two wins in a row themselves, including an impressive 6-2 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. But Peart-Harris, a midfielder on loan from Brentford at Swansea, scored from close range in the 35th minute and Watford never seemed to respond.

Swansea won for the first time in seven games at the weekend by beating Oxford and took advantage of the opening half hour.

However, scoring was a problem for the Swans and although they created three clear early chances, they failed to convert any of them.

Peart-Harris hit the post and then headed the ball into the path of Zahn Wipotnik, who was unable to get the finishing touch. Ben Cabango did put the ball into the net, but Harry Darling was flagged for offside before he headed the assist.

It looked like it might be another disappointing evening for the home fans, but Watford’s vulnerability to crosses became apparent 10 minutes before the break. Center Goncalo Franco found Ronald unmarked from the right and Peart-Harris headed home.

Watford manager Tom Cleverley made changes at half-time but his side should have fallen further behind when the ball fell perfectly to Franco, who fired over the bar from 10 yards.
