Greggs threatens to refuse service to all customers who engage in ‘rude’ habits – Life

We all love a Greggs sausage roll from time to time, but it seems some of us have lost our manners.

A popular supermarket chain is reportedly set to “refuse to serve” customers found guilty of rude behaviour.

This happens after clients turn into “zombies” due to their phonesand that might mean you miss the return holiday baking if you don’t pay attention.

Constantly scrolling, swiping, playing videos or music out loud means many simply don’t pay attention.

Chances are you’re stuck waiting behind someone who isn’t listening when they call back because they’re staring TikTok.

Now at least one branch Greggs put up a sign warning of anti-social behaviour.

The branch in Croydon, South London, is targeting people whose headphones or AirPods appear to be stuck on.

They put up a sign that said, “When in line, please remove your headphones/AirPods and turn off your phones or we may have to refuse service.”

An employee told The Sun: “We’re getting more and more customers who seem lost in another world.”

Time is of the essence for people during their lunch break, so Greggs tries to serve people as quickly as possible, with a staff member clarifying: “We try to be helpful and serve everyone quickly during peak times, but that’s not possible if customers can’t hear a word they say.” what are you saying.

“The sign is pretty stark, but we have no choice.”

Another employee shared online his anger at how rude customers are these days.

They were outraged: “Please stop talking on the phone when placing an order! It’s rude to the workers because we have to wait for you to stop.

“I’ve gotten to the point where I’ll just ask what’s required of us. I don’t care if it interrupts your call, I’m not going to wait for you to finish when there are people behind you. Stop doing this.”

It’s not just Greggs where people are getting annoyed: other customer service workers are also joining in the complaint.

“Not Greggs, but I once had a customer talk loudly on the phone while I was serving her, and I said I’ll just serve the next customer while you’re on the phone because I think it’s rude,” one worker explained.

“She was screaming at me,” she added.

Another social media user agreed with this idea, replying: “Okay, that’s really bad manners!”

So consider yourself warned: TikTok videos can wait, or you might end up hungry.
