Widespread fire: Fast fire in Malibu burns down at least one home; PCH near Malibu Canyon Road closed in both directions

MALIBU, Calif. (KABC) — At least one home is now burning amid a fast-moving wildfire in Malibu.

The so-called Broad Fire broke out Monday morning and is burning near the Pacific Coast Highway and Malibu Canyon Road.

PCH has been closed in both directions in the area, and Malibu city officials are warning residents to be prepared for possible evacuations.

The fire is burning against the backdrop of critical winds, increasing the danger of forest fires.

Meanwhile, a 250-acre fire is burning near Ventura County, with several structures at risk.
