When a scheduled train is cancelled, e-ticket holders will automatically receive a refund without the need to submit a Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR) or visit a counter. If the delay exceeds three hours, canceled passengers must submit a TDR to receive a full refund. Tickets must be canceled at the reservation desk.

How to file TDR for delayed or canceled trains

  1. Login and Go to TDR: Go to IRCTC website or app, login and under My Transactions go to My Account. Select “TDR File”.
  2. Fill in the details: indicate PNR, train number and code, then confirm the cancellation conditions.
  3. Send OTP: Enter the received OTP on your registered mobile number.
  4. Check and Confirm: Check PNR details, cancel ticket and check refund. This will be followed by a confirmation message.
