New patch for the outstanding game from Santa Monica studio. God of War Ragnarok is available to download now and introduces PS5 Pro performance improvements for everyone who purchased the system today.

Eat there are few surprises herebut there are some nice additional switches. According to the patch notes, Enhanced Mode, the flagship new graphics setting, will “enable preferred quality features when running at 60 frames per second.” Much like what system architect Mark Cerny promised: an approach that combines the best of both worlds.

However, that’s not all. High Frame Rate mode removes the frame rate cap and you can use it in combination with VRR on compatible screens for an even smoother experience. Meanwhile, you’ll also be able to select the base game’s Favor Performance mode and take advantage of the PS5 Pro’s best GPU.

We’ll have to test it properly, but I wonder if 120fps is possible here – or at least something close to that.

Elsewhere, you’ll be able to choose between the PS5 Pro’s new patented AI-powered scaler. PSSR or temporary smoothing of an existing game. Overall, from what we’ve read and seen, PSSR seems to do a fantastic job of resolving a good 4K image, but it’s always good to have options.

In terms of the game itself, you will be able to reduce the number of puzzle hints provided by companions during gameplay on all platforms. This received significant criticism at launch, as many felt they did not have time to fully assess the situation before the puzzle was solved for them.
