Driver points gun at cyclist after nearly hitting him in Ann Arbor

Ann Arbor Police say a driver pointed a gun at and threatened a bicyclist after nearly hitting him Thursday afternoon.

According to police, the victim screamed at the driver after he nearly hit him near Glen Avenue and Catherine Street around 3:35 p.m. This resulted in the driver following the cyclist, pointing a gun at the cyclist and threatening him.

Police are still searching for the suspect, who was in a white mid-size SUV. They were last seen heading towards Glen.

This is the second report of traffic violence in Ann Arbor this week. On Wednesday the driver pulled the man out of the car and attacked him because the victim “made an offensive hand gesture towards them.” Police said the incidents are not related.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 734-794-6939 or email [email protected].
