Cristiano Ronaldo may be heading for a move in the upcoming January transfer window but will not be leaving Saudi Arabia. The Portuguese superstar will reportedly swap Al Nasr for Al Hilal.

Ronaldo left behind a rich legacy at Manchester United and took his talents to the Saudi Pro League in December 2022, starting what would become a mass exodus of high-level players from across Europe.

Since then, Ronaldo has scored 73 goals in 83 matches for Al-Nasr.

According to Sport in Portugal, Al Nasr’s Ronaldo is seen as the ideal replacement for Neymar at Al Hilal following the Brazilian’s poor performance in Saudi Arabia.

Despite his impressive performances, Ronaldo is yet to win a single title with Al Nasr. Neymar was out for a year with an anterior cruciate ligament injury and suffered a hamstring problem upon his return.

Neymar has a contract with Al-Hilal until 2025, but so far his performances have not set the Saudi Pro League on fire, with just one goal and three assists. The Brazilian international has played just seven games for 19-time champions Saudi Arabia since signing in August 2023 for a fee of US$90 million.

On the other hand, Neymar’s injuries have made life difficult for the former Barcelona star.

Ronaldo previously commented on his future, pledging his commitment to Al Nasr, back in August.

“I don’t know if I will retire anytime soon, in two or three years, but I will probably retire here in Al Nasr. I am happy in this club, I feel good in this country. I’m happy to play in Saudi Arabia and I want to continue,” Ronaldo told a Portuguese TV channel.
