Photos show damage aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship buffeted by strong winds.

Bad weather rocked the Royal Caribbean Crusies ship off Spain Thursday night, causing damage to the ship’s side and forcing the ship to make an unexpected stop to allow a guest to disembark for medical reasons.

The sea explorer traveled from Barcelona (Spain) to Miami (Florida). according to CruiseMapperwebsite showing cruise ship positions and routes.

The ship was near Tenerife, the largest of Spain’s Canary Islands, when it was hit by an “unexpected gust of wind,” Royal Caribbean Cruises said in a statement.

The wind caused the ship to experience a “sudden movement,” the cruise line said.

One person aboard the ship described the motion to CBS News as a “list,” meaning the ship is leaning to one side. Photos show overturned items, broken bottles in the bar and other minor damage from the incident.

The cruise line said one passenger was injured and “requires additional medical attention.” The ship makes a stop in Las Palmas (Spain) for a medical disembarkation. The cruise line did not provide any additional information about the unidentified passenger’s condition.

The Explorer of the Seas is a 1,020-foot-long vessel that can accommodate up to 4,290 guests and 1,185 crew. according to the Royal Caribbean Cruises newsletter. It includes an ice skating rink, miniature golf course and a climbing wall on fifteen passenger decks. Registered in the Bahamas and sailing since 2000.
