Police are appealing for help in their investigation into a crash which left a man in a critical condition in Norwich on Tuesday evening.

Norwich Police responded to a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian in the area of ​​655 East Main St. at approximately 5:30 pm on Tuesday evening. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 66-year-old man with head and torso injuries.

Norwich police said the man was taken to Backus Hospital and then to Hartford Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The vehicle that struck the pedestrian fled the scene before police arrived. As of Friday morning, no information had been received about the vehicle that fled the scene.
