San Francisco 49ers star Nick Bosa crashed Brock Purdy’s postgame interview on “Sunday Night Football” with NBC’s Melissa Stark by showing off his “Make America Great Again” hat.

Bosa appeared behind Purdy, George Kittle and Isaac Gerendo and the hat flashed. He pointed to the hat and Stark confirmed it before returning to the interview.

However, fans wouldn’t immediately notice it just by looking at the Sunday Night Football reel of X. Bosa’s brief appearance was left out of Stark’s interview with Purdy, Kittle and Guerendo when it was published at 11:57 pm ET on Sunday.

By mid-morning Monday, the clip itself had been completely removed.

NFL fans took notice.

“Sunday Night Football” account X later re-posted the clip in its entirety, showing Bosa’s appearance wearing a MAGA hat. However, it was soon deleted and published again.

NBC Universal Group has not commented on the confusion.

It was one of the few times active NFL players have openly endorsed a presidential candidate this election season. Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Harrison Butker also endorsed former President Donald Trump earlier this year, while Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Thomas Booker IV stymied Kamala Harris’ vice presidential candidacy.

Bosa had three tackles, a sack and three QB hits.

The four-time Pro Bowler had 3.5 sacks and 25 tackles against the Cowboys. The 49ers improved to 4-4 on the year.

Bosa has been a longtime Trump supporter, even before he was in the NFL. He showed in 2019 he cleaned his Report X on Trump’s posts and criticism of Colin Kaepernick over concerns that he may not be fully accepted by the city of San Francisco if he is drafted by the 49ers.
