Don’t be distracted by Donald Trump

On Monday (October 28), the Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris appeared in the latest episode of The Shay Shay Club. The interview was mostly light-hearted at first, with the vice president talking to host Shannon Sharp about her breakfast habits, music tastes and, in a humorous way, her age compared to the former NFL great.

Things got more serious as the hour-long discussion continued, with the focus turning to Harris’ policies on immigration, taxes, health care access and more. She also had a message for African Americans – especially Black men — who decided to vote for former President Donald Trump.

“Don’t think you’re in Donald Trump’s club. You don’t. He won’t think about you. Do you think he’ll invite you to dinner? she asked. “You think that when he gets together, when he’s with his buddies, with his billionaire buddies, he’s thinking about what we need to do to address… the health disparities in black men in terms of colon cancer, about what what do we need to do, about screenings, what do we need to do about prostate cancer, which black men are twice as likely to have?” Sharpe noted his diagnosis of prostate cancer in 2016 in response.

Harris also discussed her previous work in small business ownership. “Before I ran for president, (I ran) tour… (it) targets black men and black entrepreneurs,” she explained. “What we know is that unlike Donald Trump, who was handed $400 million on a silver platter and filed for bankruptcy six times, I know that many of our entrepreneurs have great ideas but lack access to capital. “

Elsewhere in the interview, Harris dismissed the idea that Trump was behind it. incentive payments in 2020 and 2021. She made it clear that despite his name appearing on the checks, the measure was supported by a majority of the Caucus. “People like Maxine Waters, people like Hakeem Jeffries… Remember, the money belongs to Congress. Congress wrote those checks,” she said.
