Peacock unveils expansion of its plans for Election Night 2024

Four years ago, I had not yet joined the ranks of the cord cutters and was still clinging to my cable subscription as if I were one of the last survivors on some remote, unconquered island that, although the war was over, still refused to surrender . A few trips around the sun later, and here I am, subscribed to millions of streamers and now figuring out how I could stay up to date on election night, figuring I could stay glued to NBC. Peacock app, which just announced it’s expanding its plans for the big night.

Major events like presidential elections are one of the few, and perhaps the only, remaining times where you may miss the convenience of live television, where you can switch from channel to channel to hear reports from overpaid and over-coiffed talking heads. – and if you’re so inclined, also let yourself be carried away by props like CNN’s “Magic Wall” and the array of red-and-white speckled maps that chart the progress of the race.

As for Peacock, the company is expanding its popular “Multiview” experience from coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics to Election Night – the first time it will be available outside of sports content (which probably says something about the swings in politics, but that’s not here). neither there). Drawing on NBC News’ reporting, Peacock Multiview’s election program will present viewers with a curated three-view program based on breaking news, data analysis and real-time results.

Figuring out how to watch live during a big moment like this is always a little tricky if you’re full-time streaming, so I should also note: the Multiview feature on Peacock will be available starting at 6:00 pm ET on November 1st. 5 and will run until approximately 2 a.m. ET on November 6th. Multiview will be available on smart TVs, streaming devices, web browsers and tablets, and Peacock says Multiview will include:

  • NBC News NOW: Latest news and real-time election coverage from the NBC News team led by Lester Holt and Savannah Guthrie.
  • Kornacki’s Camera: Analysis by NBC News national political correspondent Steve Kornacki will be posted on a large board with commentary on the latest results and exit polls.
  • Election results and balance of power map: Projected Electoral College results and other key results from NBC News’ decision service.

I should add that Peacock isn’t the only streaming option offering election night coverage. If you are now one of the seven people who are not annoyed by this Jeff Bezos refused to let his Washington Post endorse Kamala Harris, you can always check out Prime Video’s recently announced “Election Night Live with Brian Williams” offering.
