Latest floods in Spain: Brit dies in ‘devastating’ floods in Spain – death toll rises to over 90

Another major flood, another day where we can hardly believe how climate change is changing our lives.

At least 72 people were killed. Crops are destroyed, flights are cancelled, and a high-speed train is derailed.

The footage is stunning: torrents of water collapse a bridge, cars are swept away and thrown onto each other by powerful floodwater as if they were just a handful of toy cars, people rescued from neck-deep water.

But it’s somehow familiar.

It is reminiscent of similar scenes from Eastern and Central Europe just last month, or the floods in Germany and Belgium in 2021 that killed more than 200 people.
