Nina Dobrev and Shaun White are engaged!

The Olympic snowboarder popped the question to Dobrev in October after dating for more than four years, the couple said. Fashion in an interview published on October 30.

The former Vampire Diaries star said she was surprised by White’s proposal. To get Dobrev to the Golden Swan restaurant in the West Village, White came up with an elaborate plan that included a fake invitation to the CFDA/Vogue dinner with Anna Wintour. But when she walked through the door, she saw White.

“I went into shock. I just froze and stared at him,” she told Vogue.

White gave Dobrev a 5-carat diamond ring under an arch of white roses. “He said all the right things,” Dobrev gushed.

However, her answer was somewhat ambiguous: Dobrev told White, “No..And then he repeated: “No, no, no!” But these were exclamations of joyful disbelief, she said.

White knew Dobrev was nervous “because when she’s nervous, she jokes. She was like, “Well, wait, Anna isn’t here?” – he recalled, laughing.

White hid his engagement ring in his home for several weeks, the couple told Vogue. The ring was moved from the safe to the sock drawer and eventually to the back of the tool shed. “I thought: She won’t come out here. White joked.

After Dobrev agreed to White’s proposal, the couple celebrated over caviar and champagne with close friends.

White shared images from the proposal on Oct. 30. on Instagramcaptioning them, “She said YES,” adding a diamond ring emoji and an eternity symbol.

Dobrev too general photos about the iconic moment he wrote: “Rest in peace, guy, hello, groom” and added the same emoticon.

Dobrev and White went public with their romance in May 2020. Over the years, the couple has captivated fans with their playfulness, as when White called his girlfriend a “hot mess” wishing her a happy 33rd birthday in January 2022.

The retired snowboarder posted explicit photos and videos of Dobrev, including one of her eating erratically, another of her drinking wine with a mask over her face, and a third image of her brushing her teeth at a dentist’s office.

“Happy Birthday to you beauty @nina,” White wrote in the caption.

White also credited Dobrev for helping him navigate his life and career.

“Nina is incredible. What an impact on my life,” he said. People in October 2021. “Not only does she run her own show, her own world, the companies she’s in, the things she produces, and all this stuff that’s going on. She holds me to the same high standard that is so nice to have in a partner.”
